Al Holifield founded Holifield & Associates in 2004 with offices in Knoxville, Tennessee. Our firm, now known as Holifield Janich Rachal & Ferrera, PLLC since December 2017, continues to grow, serving clients across the country from offices in Knoxville, Chicago, New Orleans and Washington, D.C. primarily in the areas of employee benefits, executive compensation and employment law.
We are a boutique firm with specialized knowledge in all facets of employee benefits law. Each of our member attorneys has 20 or more years of experience (acquired primarily in large law firms) serving privately and publicly held companies, not for profits, government entities, executives and other professionals in the employee benefit industry. Our strength lies in our proven record of success addressing our clients’ legal issues in a focused and targeted manner. We use our respective knowledge and experience to assist each other in helping our clients meet their business and human resource goals, and to defend their interests in litigation or governmental investigations.
We are recognized nationally for personalized service to clients and for significant contributions to the field of employee benefits law. Each of our member attorneys has been inducted to the Fellows of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. In addition, each member has also received professional recognition in one or more of the following: Chambers, US Legal 500, Super Lawyers, Leading Lawyers and Best Lawyers as among the top lawyers in the country regarding employee benefits, executive compensation and ERISA litigation. Furthermore, our member attorneys and associates are authors or co-authors of professional and trade journals, as well as books in the field, most notably among them are BNA’s Employee Benefits Law, BNA’s ERISA Litigation, and Wolters Kluwer’s ERISA Fiduciary Answer Book.
